DFID has placed trade firmly on the economic development agenda, with the objective of harnessing the potential of new trade relationships to boost job creation and investment to the world’s poorest countries. In this article, ICED analyses DFID’s 2017 Economic Development Strategy and how it can deliver its commitment to trade facilitation through investments in the enabling environment for infrastructure, urban development and manufacturing.
Moving ahead: a new agenda for cities, infrastructure and trade
This work was carried out under the Infrastructure and Cities for Economic Development (ICED) facility.
ICED supported DFID country offices, central teams and ODA-spending Other Government Departments to deliver DFID’s Economic Development Strategy by scaling up programming and investment in infrastructure and cities. It operated between February 2016 and July 2019.
