Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. It protects energy consumers, especially vulnerable people, by ensuring they are treated fairly and benefit from a cleaner, greener environment. Ofgem works with government, industry and consumer groups to create a net-zero economy at the lowest cost to consumers. It is also enabling competition and innovation that drive down prices and result in new products and services for consumers.
As a UK Agency Delivery Parter, Ofgem provides regulatory support to the Centre of Expertise’s programmes to help developing energy systems accelerate their journey to net zero through regulation. Ofgem is working with the Solomon Islands government as they create an independent electricity regulator, and with experts from the Ghanaian energy sector on market design.
